Gospell VIII: on robots

When speaking with robots don't expect them to understand cultural nuances. They are machines after all. This same rule applies to inanimate and semi-animate objects.

  1. I feel I must disagree with you here. We have no idea what kind of technology robots have inside them. Take Cylons for example: I honestly feel Cylons are capable of emotion and complex thought, much like humans. The fact they wanted to anihilate everyone in the 13 Colonies proves this, because you can't be a grudge-holding sociopath if you aren't capable of truth emotion.

Plus. Sometimes I think I am getting married to a robot and I'd like to think he really loves me.

  2. The should be "true" emotion not "truth".

they may have emotions but i still think they would probably take things pretty literally and thus still not linguistically understand cultural nuanced phrases
